a brief respite from movement.

I love color. But, some days, certain amounts of grey feel good because of the way it counteracts the overdoses of excitement that I sometimes swallow.

This morning the sky is thick and heavy with clouds. It makes wolfie sleepy, and me too. The dark grey-green shadows of the living room pull me towards the couch for a mid-morning nap where my old black cat lets loose a rumbling purr in his pleasure to curl up next to me.

The house is quiet. I am quiet. The sky is still.

Today, grey offers me all that I need.

I wish we had some grey today. The sun has been out every day and while it's been nice, I welcome fall wholeheartedly...

I'm kind of enjoying the grey, too, now that I've crawled out of my depression. Yesterday I wanted to sit on the covered porch and read while the rain dripped around me, but I made myself finish washing the dishes first, and by the time I was done, so was the rain. I still sat out there, though, and even finished a book.

By the way, breakfast or lunch next week works for me. My weekends are packed, but right now I don't have much scheduled for during the week. All I have so far is some guys coming to replace a few windows on Wednesday morning (no idea how long that'll take), and on Thursday afternoon the evil cat has to go to the vet.

I echo Ruby's plea....life without the grey is just a sad existence. Gotta have the sky blankets come and visit once in awhile! Just once...all I'm askin.....one time..

How beautiful! I love the rain and I love grey days spent quietly pondering!

you created such a sense of peace in a few short paragraphs...even though it's sunny here and i'm trying to enjoy the heat before it morphs into the chill of autumn, for a moment i felt wistful for rain...
