Day 2

Day 2 of hibernation and I woke up to snow. How lucky can I get?! As the morning progresses, the snow continues to fall and I've just returned from a walk out in the woods. The ski-trails haven't been groomed yet, so we were able to walk wherever we wanted. We saw no one. But it is still cold (-9 degrees F with the windchill). We walked until my eyelashes grew icicles and my hat and scarf frosted over to the point of uncomfortable. I was wearing my slippery snow pants so we took the opportunity to do some impromptu sledding down one of the big hills. Anu loves it. And, I swear, dogs really can smile.

As I slid down the hill on my ass with my dog flying through the air behind me, I was aware of the fact that I am seriously not like most adults. But, I admit, I find great satisfaction in the actions of my weirdness.

ah-em...anyway..........................

Oh, Jessie - your hibernation time sounds like heaven. I wish we had weather like where you are - for a few days, at least.

oh, god. i love you. i am SOOOOOOOO glad you are not like other adults...think about how much more fun YOU seem to have.

i think the image of you sliding down the hill on your bum with a smiling anu galloping behind you seriously made my week.

How wonderful!

And you know, just yesterday I was lamenting to Justin the days of snowpants! Thanks for showing me that I can still wear them!

jamie, luckily they make snowpants that look a lot cooler than they used to. heck, they're even kinda slimming. but moonboots? oh, i'd really love a pair of those! :)-

Hey that sounds like fun. Wish we had snow. It doesn't get very cold here in Sothern Cal, but I did get away to the mountains and snow board down hill. Um, mind you I'm not very good at it and I don't mind falling, it's the pain of getting my ass back up that sucks. Un-used to the cold weather, I felt like chap-sticking my face. Have a nice hibernation.

I am with bella - your hibernation time sounds like heaven --- now I have a question... Who wants to be normal - much less average? :) :)
