Being Dramatic :: {Project 44}

60" x 40" :: Oil on Canvas :: Photo of work in progress

This is a sneak peek of my most favorite painting to date (early stages).
It's big. It's dramatic. It felt amazing to paint.

If you live in the Minneapolis area, I invite you to see the finished piece at the
Dogs of Edina exhibition at the Galleria, May 6th-31st, 2010.

Jessie, your work just keeps getting better and better! I don't know how you do it, but you capture the actual essence of each dog! They seem to be breathing, watching, waiting,enjoying their time in the limelight.
You truly have a gift.
I'm encouraging my niece, Erica, to go to your showing. Look for a short,thin, blond girl (hair also short).
She loves animals, too!

Wow! That's amazing! I just LOVE big canvases!
Your work is absolutely beautiful, and you are such an inspiration to me. I am also a pet artist - in the St. Cloud area, and I enjoy connecting with , and supporting other artists. Looking forward to seeing your show in May! Also, my daughter and I will be stopping in at the Deviant Art show on Saturday, will you be there? It would be great to meet you!

Recently, I saw a murder/mystery tv movie in which the killer was dumping a poor woman's corpse into the nearest garbage container after he murdered her by snapping her neck. He was dragging her by the wrists and at the first tug, the victim let out a slight grunt. Then I began wondering about that. I understand that dead bodies have a tendency to shake and give off gas, but I'm not sure about grunting.

Do dead bodies actually grunt or was that just for the sake of dramatic tension?
