spectacles of nature.

The tree outside our house, the one that stretches its limbs over our roof and far into the sky, is in full bloom right now. I came home for lunch today to find hundreds of butterflies feasting on its blossoms. They flitted and fluttered through the air all around me. They rested on the ivy covering our house, opening and closing their wings, so softly. They danced circles around one another. They took my breath away. I have never, in my whole life, seen such a spectacle.

Neither has Louie.

When I returned home again after work, the tree was quiet...until I looked more closely and saw that all of the butterflies were still there...only sleeping.

Or perhaps waiting for the storm?

The rain eventually came in big drops.
And I stayed outside to enjoy it.

Do you know what kind of tree that is? It's gorgeous.

A few years ago we had a butterfly migration pass through this area - millions of butterflies over a couple weeks - it was one of the most awe-inspiring things I've ever seen.

Louie just slays me with his looks of wonder. Cool shots!

I don't know if I still have your email but I wanted to show you my garden covered in snow. We do have white winters :)

sweetie, you have a most artistic eye. Your photos make me sit back in calm. Beautiful.

A butterfly danced above and around my head yesterday in the back garden. The child in me laughed as I danced with her. She flew over the fence and I still want to play. I may have looked to be a fool but I didn't care. What wonderful days butterflies bring.

Happy Summer Jessie!
I was going through my inspiration box and found the letter you wrote me...with all the leaves!
It warmed my heart!

I love summer rain. When its hot and humid, and you feel sticky where anything touches you. And the rain falls, and relief is there. It brings life and washes away the blues.

Yep, I can't wait for summer.

Soaking in the big fat raindrops. What could be sweeter than that?
