rocky roads lead to better times.

I brewed the coffee a little weaker this morning because my mom is here visiting for a long weekend. I'm 31 years old and this is the first time she's ever stayed overnight at my house. I feel like I'm experiencing some sort of rite of passage into adulthood. Still, I feel like a little kid trying to please my mom and make her happy. And, actually, I'm enjoying it. Interesting.

It does feel a little weird when Mom visits. Mine was here earlier this year and I exhausted myself trying to please her and make her comfortable. Hope you had a nice visit.

I know what you mean about making your mom feel comfortable. Mine has only stayed with me once. The whole experience of cooking for her felt like a rite of passage. She's a fabulous cook and so although she'd never say she didn't like something, I really wanted her to be pleased.

Based on my experience - I suspect your mom feels that it is a rite of passage also... :)
